How we build the island section

Four decisions that improve the whole stay

1. Decide what you want from the water

Some guests want easy swimming close to the hotel throughout much of the day. Others enjoy a tidal coast, long sand walks, kitesurfing, or reef access. We begin there rather than treating every beach as interchangeable.

2. Protect enough unplanned time

After early safari starts or a strenuous mountain climb, a free day can be more valuable than three excursions. We suggest one strong activity at a time and keep boat trips dependent on sea conditions.

3. Match meal plan to location

A remote property with half board can be more practical than room-only, while a hotel near Paje or Stone Town restaurants may benefit from flexibility. The proposal states what is included so dinner costs are not discovered at check-in.

4. Plan the final flight conservatively

Cross-island transfers, traffic, ferry schedules, domestic flights, and international check-in all need margin. We avoid a beach-to-bush-to-international sequence that depends on every connection running perfectly.

Ethical activity selection matters.

Marine wildlife is not a prop. We favour operators that limit crowding, follow park and boat rules, respect distance, and cancel when sea conditions are unsuitable.
